Vampire Weekend Transcend All of Music and Humanity on "Saturday Night Live"

Clips of music saviours (praise be to Chris Thompson and his ascension drum fill!) Vampire Weekend's performance from this past weekend's "Saturday Night Live", which was only the second post-writer's strike episode, have been coming and going on YouTube at an alarming rate. Luckily, Redlasso has got us covered, so we can all watch the Brooklyn-based, highly buzzed quartet perform their celestial tunes--a blend of rock and West African pop music which will surely divide musical eras into two parts: B-VW and A-VW.
All snark aside, the group clearly has an infectious, energetic stage presence that translates even on the small (or, in our case, smaller) screen, and the band more than adequately performs two of the better songs from its self-titled debut. Watch clips of "M79" and "A-Punk" at the top of the post.
