Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon is, like many of eclectic folk singer Devendra Banhart's work, fascinating, unpredictable, and frustratingly inconsistent. However, one of the undisputed highlights of that album was "Seahorse", a free-flowing, winding track that starting off softly, went on a musical detour that placed Banhart's more Latin-flavored influences in a waltz context, and finished in a psychedelic jam session.

It's no surprise, then, that "Seahorse" would sound great in a live music setting, whether it's on the festival circuit or on French television. Banhart's YouTube channel just made available his performance on the French television show "De La Semaine" and you can watch Banhart and his band (are they still called Spiritual Boner?) play the song at the top of the post.
