Jiminy Christmas, how many tracks can the Cool Kids release? On the heels of the NBA nostalgia of "Pennies" comes "Delivery Man", a track revolving around what sounds like an accordian sample. Pretty dope. The song comes from a business collaboration with Mountain Dew. Read about it here. And remember to throw your "hands in the air/even if your arms don't work".
Fans of The Cool Kids have been used to hearing new material consistently trickle from the Chicago-based hip-hop twosome, usually on the band's MySpace Page. It sometimes can take a little while to have those songs released in a more traditional format, like an album or even an EP. An awesomely stupid mixtape notwithstanding, The Cool Kids have yet to release a proper debut album.
That will all change with When Fish Ride Bicycles. No word on a release date, but the first single, "Pennies", has been leaked online. If you're looking to find a song that defines The Cool Kids aesthetic, this is it. With an defiantly old-school vibe, and a trunk-rattlin' bass line, the slow, minimalist "Pennies" is just the kind of thing to get people to stop hating on hipster rap.
Grizzly Bear, Wilco Debut New Material At Lollapalooza 2008

Despite the fact that its in my backyard, I opted not to attended Lollapalooza this year, due to high ticket prices and the fact that I'd seen most of the main acts at Lollapalooza 2006. But, the more and more videos I see from the Midwest destination fest being upload, the more I start to question the wisdom of that decision (and then I remember: oh yeah, when was the last time I had 200 bones to spare?).
Still, the people who did go--and there were a lot of them--got to see (rather, are seeing) some amazing things. Two of the more noteworthy sights were new songs debuted by both Grizzly Bear and Wilco. Stereogum had the scoop on them both. "One Wing", Wilco's new song described by S-Gum as a "meandering rocker with a triple axe-explosion" (wasn't that "Impossible Germany?"), was premiered by the site. As far as Grizzly Bear is concerned, the already leaked "Two Weeks" was amongst four new songs played the group. Again, Stereogum's got the scoop, and you can read about it here.

Chicago hip-hop duo The Cool Kids finally dropped their long-anticipated mixtape That's Stupid yesterday via their website. The set contains six new songs, including "Dinner Time" and "Full and Paid", which you can listen to at the top of the post.
The Cool Kids have two simple instructions for your listening pleasure (via MySpace): "1.play this in your car first! 2. Dont skip.. its only 25 minutes..."
Well, I can't guarantee the former, but based on the duo's shit-hot output this year, I can definitely assure them of the latter.
Speaking of SXSW, another great act making the rounds is Chicago's (hometown love!) very own old-school lovin' hip-hop duo The Cool Kids. If you can catch them, do. I've come oh-so-close to seeing them at last year's 'Fork festival, but, alas, no dice. Or black mags. Or 88's. But hey, check out the cover of the new Laced Magazine. It's got the duo on it. This one goes out to Pete Farrell. On Friday, Pitchfork posted two new tracks by the old-school hip-hop revivialist act The Cool Kids. Incidentally, these fine lads hail from the great city of Chicago. Along with the two new tracks ("Black Mags and "What It Iz"), I figured I would post a few more songs from the forthcoming Totally Flossed Out. There's no release date that I know of yet, but as soon as there is one we will let you know.
