LARPERS Caught by Google Street View

Two battling LARPERS were caught on camera by Google Street View. I'm not kidding. Check it out here. After laughing for a good spell, I began to think about LARPing, and what it could mean to me: you know, the swords, the shields, the never-ending lore. So, I put a mix together of songs that I would pipe into my medieval helmet whilst I don the appropriate garb, wield a battle axe, and smite my enemies.

Please, imagine a montage of me running through fields with a sword slaying some shit up while this playlist is rocking me to victory.

Behold, my LARPING mix:

*MP3: The Microphones - "The Glow Pt. 2"
*MP3: David Bowie - "Life On Mars"
*MP3: Animal Collective - "Brother Sport"
*MP3: Fuck Buttons - "Ribs Out"
*MP3: John Vanderslice - "Time To Go"
*MP3: Deerhoof - "+81"
*MP3: Headlights - "TV"
*MP3: Dr. Dog - "My Old Way"
*MP3: Ten Grand - "Fuck You Guyses Teams"
*MP3: Frightened Rabbit - "I Feel Better"
*MP3: Hockey Night - "Style Raiders"
*MP3: Justin Timberlake - "Summer Love/Set The Mood"
*MP3: Les Savy Fav - "The Orchard"
*MP3: Marnie Stern - "Simon Says"
*MP3: The Knife - "Neverland"
*MP3: Deerhunter - "Lake Somerset"
*MP3: Copeland - "Chin Up"

So, yeah, special note. If you're in a larping club and are reading this, please send me a note, I might totally want in.

Les Savy Fav Was Just On Conan A Moment Ago

I'm sure we'll get around to posting the video of this at some point, but wow, that was a lot of shirts. I also really liked Tim's hair, it just don't quit.

Tim Harrington of Les Savy Fav Stars In Commercial as a Mosquito

It finally happened, Tim Harrington turned into what we always thought he would: a thespian, a mosquito, a man -- a masquitoman. Such charisma will not be contained to the small screen for long, I see a multi-picture deal down the road.

See the video here.

Les Savy Fav Plays Bowery

Les Savy Fav is about to take the world by storm, partially because their live shows are rumored to be amazing. So, here is a link to Brooklyn Vegan who were at LSF's NYC show on Saturday. They took some great photos, including this one.

Yes, that is a magnifying glass magnifying Tim Harrington's index finger in his belly button. So cool.

Les Savy Fav is the Future of History, Now

I have had a torrid love affair with Les Savy Fav since 2000. I have often cited these Brooklyn-based miscreants as my "single most favorite band ever ever ever." If you have heard me say such a thing, I was not lying.

Last week, their faithful and equally as dubious record label (Frenchkiss Records), which so happens to be owned and operated by LSF bass player Syd Butler, released the first single - "The Equestrian" - off of Les Savy Fav's forthcoming album, set to be released this fall.

Now, I've been waiting for a new track off of this record for some time, so I am understandably excited. So, here are a few of my favorite tracks from their entire catalog to honor this moment and also to entice you to go out and buy all of their albums. Now.

Download: Les Savy Fav - "The Equestrian" - Forthcoming Full-Length
Download: Les Savy Fav - "Raging In the Plague Age" - Plagues and Snakes
Download: Les Savy Fav - "Knowing How the World Works" - Inches
Download: Les Savy Fav - "Disco Drive" - Go Forth
Download: Les Savy Fav - "Hide Me From Next February" - Rome EP**
Download: Les Savy Fav - "J' Taime" - 3/5
Download: Les Savy Fav - "This Incentive" - The Cat and The Cobra
