Tonight In Minneapolis: The Black Kids, Cut Copy, Tokyo Police Club

Jacksonville-based mellow-poppers Black Kids will be hitting the Entry tonight for a 21+ show. The band has had one hell of a year – ascending to prominence following positive reviews from the biggest names in indie press and finally a record deal with Columbia Records (Partie Traumatic is due out June 22). With a sound anchored in strong pop rhythm, these on-their-way-to tour veterans have the potential to put on one hell of a live show.
Cut Copy, who hail all the way from Melbourne, Australia, and Brooklyn Indie-tronica act Mobius Band will be opening.

For those of you looking for a something a little more raw on a Tuesday, Tokyo Police Club is rocking the Varsity Theatre. Balancing a healthy amount of punkiness with a power-pop aesthetic, Tokyo Police Club’s territory is a little well-worn, but they notoriously put on a wild show.
Nostalgic pop cuties Smoosh and excitable Chi-Town natives Maps & Atlases open. Doors are at 7, show is at 8.
