Pop Music in the Spring

**Previous post was deleted by the IFPI. Here is a repost without the mp3s and only Hype Machine links. (3/23/09, 11:03 AM).

Yeah, yeah, I like pop music. Mostly this is because I like fun. However, the best part about liking pop music is liking pop music in Spring. It's 48-degrees, windows are down, and the top 40 hits are thumping. So, here are my nominees for 2009's most-likely-to-be-heard-at-a-

party-in-the-spring. Notice the balance between newbies and classics, top 40 and indie-pop, which are both crucial elements to any Spring-time party mix. Not to mention the back-to-back Rihanna play, because, after all, everyone just wants to hear "Umbrella" on more time.

It's all there, just press play.

*MP3: The Hood Internet - "Single Foxes (Put A Wood On It)" (Beyonce vs. Fleet Foxes)

The Hood Internet delivers another great mash-up: Beyonce vs. Fleet Foxes. They put it under the "didn't work" category, but it's just kinda awesome still.

Beyonce Vs. Theme from "Andy Griffith Show" - "Single Ladies (In Mayberry)"

Since today is unofficial mash-up day here at MFR, I'd thought I'd post something that Chris from Culture Bully left in the comment section. It's Beyonce's "Single Ladies" mashed-up with the theme from "The Andy Griffith Show", as composed by Earle Hagen. Needless to say, it's awesome.

DJ Earworm - "If I Were A Free Fallin' Boy" (Mashup of Beyonce and Tom Petty)

This is a mashup by DJ Earworm of Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" and Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'", and it's rather astonishingly put together. Tip of the hat, Mr. Earworm. Watch his video for "Reckoner Lockdown", another bit of his mix-up handiwork, at the top of the post.

Beyonce - "I Am... Sasha Fierce"

It's good. Real good. Not great, but real good. There are four or five killer jams that include, but are not limited to, "Diva," "Video Phone," and "Ego," which are all on the "dance" element of the record. I got the deluxe version because I'm a square and rather enjoy the bonus videos.

Buy it on Amazon.
Check it out on MySpace.

New Beyonce/Shakira Music Video

I will continue today's trend of contentless pop music. Nothing like self-referential music to stir the public's emotions.
