Casting alt-country chanteuses Neko Case and Kelly Hogan as sirens is, purely and simply, a stroke of genius. Last night, on the second episode of season number five for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", the two singers made guest appearances on the venerable Adult Swim program. You can watch the results at the top of the post. Pretty excellent, as per usual. Listen to MP3s of Neko Case and you'll hear why most music fans would consider Case and Hogan sirens.

I just watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters for the first time. I was unable to see it on the big screen when it was released this past spring. But, luckily for me, the movie was just released on DVD this past Tuesday. The opening sequence, which features Mastodon, is one of the funniest, tear-inducing, sequences ever committed to celluloid.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theatres

Today is the day that the Aqua Teen movie is released into theatres. The film is getting mixed reviews, but I still plan on seeing it anyway sometime in the near future anyway. After all, who wouldn't want to see the mooninites on the big screen? That middle finger is going to be even bigger.

The soundtrack to the film was released to stores this past Tuesday and it includes "The Hold Steady's "Girls Like Status," which is a b-side from Boys and Girls In America . The track was also available on the iTunes version of Boys.

The soundtrack also includes dialogue from the movie and musical contributions from Mastodon, Andrew W.K. and Unearth, amongst others.

If girls really are into status, then Meatwad's outta luck.
