POS Guest Blogs for MTV2's "Subterranean"
Once upon a time, there was a show on MTV called 120 Minutes which consisted of 2 hours of videos featuring breaking underground artists. When alternative boom went bust in the mid-90s, so did this program, in a sense. Rather than continue under the "120 Minutes" name, the show shifted to MTV2 and continued under the name "Subterranean," where it continues to devote itself to underground artists.
One of those is Rhymesayers rapper POS, who recently took the time to blog about the making of his "Drumroll" video, about which he writes:
The video for drumroll was shot on day two of an insane six day video marathon. Six different videos, six directors, sharing gear and helping each other out...Four of the videos, including “Drumroll” were shot in an abandoned water plant in North Minneapolis. The building itself is this four or five story mess that has been empty since I was a little kid. Smashed out windows, roof caving in, huge rusted out machinery. I used to go in and try to write graf. I wasn’t that good.
