Pearlman is under a whole heap of financial trouble regarding defrauding his bank, amongst other changes. In June, he was arrested in Thailand, where he was hiding out in a hotel and extradited back to the US. He's in jail right now.

But, according to Vanity Fair, who published the article that is linked to at the top of the post, there's even more sleazy behavior. Basically, Pearlman is a sexual predator. It's a frightening, fascinating read.
