If you order the double LP, then you can receive the album with a gatefold tip-on jacket and a free MP3 download of Widow City.

At the top of this post, you'll find MP3's from all six of the Fiery Furnaces' albums...even Rehearsing My Choir.

The siblings Friedburger will be playing the Turf Club in St. Paul on Oct. 12th.

I believe I recently read a live review over at Fluxblog about the Furnaces, and it wasn't a good one. What specifically stuck with me was that the songs were "interpretations" that barely resembled what songs they used to be. Just wondering if anyone else has witnessed their live act. I would love to see them, but I'm a bit leery of hearing my favorite songs being ripped apart.

Tara-
Oddly enough, I've heard the Furnaces' live act praised for the reasons that Fluxbog panned them. Most of the friends I have who've seen FF live give them good notices. I, however, can't say one way or the other.

I saw them in Denver last year and loved it. Extremely talented band. The songs sounded much different than the studio versions, but were great nonetheless. Go with an open mind and enjoy.
