Surf City, a trio from New Zealand, begin their first single, "Headin' Inside", with the kind of treble-y guitar riff one would expect a group with the word "surf" to have in their music. But instead of going on a Dale-esque trip to "Miserlou", the band settles into a hyper-catchy, melodious style of punk that bands like No Age and Titus Andronicus. The band's nods to The Clash suggest that their more the peers of the latter rather than the former, and, as such, "Headin' Inside" makes for better-than-average, tuneful listening.
