Don't forget the honorable mentions:

Atmosphere, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold
Heiruspecs, Heiruspecs
Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, Orange Peels and Rattlesnakes
Maps of Norway, Die Off Songbird
Jeremy Messersmith, The Silver City
Adam Svec, Enemy Swimmer
Unicorn Basement, We Are the Mages of Beauty

If we had the room, I'd like to list our top 20 or 30 local albums of the year. There were a lot of stellar releases this year.

I'm glad to see Atmosphere in the honorable mentions rather than the actual list. That album has been in every god damn top 10 list I've seen and I'm getting sick of it. It's good, but shit, it wasn't as good as some of their other albums. So many people are kissing their ass now that they're on Letterman and MTV, but where were those people a couple years back?
