Toronto's The Coast are the single best new band I've heard in 2008. However, they are not new at all. They are, in fact, Canada's best kept secret. They just released "Expatriate" in Canada, but not in the U.S. Go figure.


Genuinely compelling and flat out moving, this band has a sound completely their own within the context of the Toronto indie-pop culture, the Replacements, and maybe listening to the Boss a bit too much -- if that is even possible.
