I've got to tell you about this band I saw open for Bobby Conn a few weeks ago. Bird Names are from Chicago, and listening to them live was like hearing confusion as a musical aesthetic. I'm not entirely sure if that's a compliment or not. All of their songs had the same "Muppet-Babies-form-avant-garde-rock-twee-band-and-rehearse-in-their- basement-then-tour-funhouses" kind of vibe. As exhausting as that description is, it's the only way I can accurately describe them without drawing a giant question mark. Click above for their MySpace page and judge for yourselves.
